JY's Newsletter - Nov '87

Okay, so I'm a few months behind schedule. From my perspective, making records is the hardest part of being a rock 'n' roller. It seems to take forever, and I apologize, but the end is in sight. And the Bears are playing football again!!

NEW MAILING ADDRESS

Another reason for this late newsletter is that I moved back to Chicago in August, and will be here for at least the next year. You may still send letters to the Hollywood P.O. Box, but they will come to our attention quicker if you send them to the following address:

JY
c/o ABSOLUTE RECORDS
P.O. BOX 388689
CHICAGO, IL 60638

JY SOLO 2

Progress continues on the new album, and it will be done around the first of the year. Release date tentatively around mid-March.

WILD DOGS VIDEO

So many of you asked that there be a JY video, that indeed there now is. "Wild Dogs in the Night" was directed by a UCLA film student named John Orloff, Jr., and was filmed in black & white on location in the hills & streets of L.A. MTV played it twice in August on 'Headbangers Ball', but that is probably it for the moment. I do intend to make more videos.

STYX UPDATE

Things looking better for a reunion, but nothing definite yet.

STYX COMPILATION CD ISSUED BY A&M FOR THEIR 25TH ANNIVERSARY

It has now been 25 years since Herb Alpert & Jerry Moss started their company in Jerry's garage. It is amazing what can come out of a great idea, when people stick with it, persist & have patience that the end result will be a good one.

A&M was very good for Styx when we first went there in 1975, and it pleases me to see them continue to do well. There will be 14-16 tracks on this new CD, which includes some songs that were not on the double live album.

Happy Holidays!
